About Us

Max

 

Max is currently a senior attending Illinois State University. He is currently majoring in Interpersonal Communication with hopes of entering into sales. His future goals are to continue on course to graduate In may of 2017 and to continue to gain knowledge regarding effective communication skills, in order to be a competent speaker when dealing with people of all cultures and ethnicities. From this project Max not only learned to apply effective small group communication skills, but also gained experience in constructing and implementing strategies regarding civic engagement fundraising and creating awareness, all the while enjoying making a difference in the Bloomington-Normal community.

Natasha

Natasha is weeks away from obtaining a Bachelor's of Science in Communication Studies from Illinois State University. Natasha's future goals include working for a nonprofit organization that rehabilitates abused women and children. This project has helped Natasha develop stronger skills in small group communication and rhetoric.

Erica 

 

Erica (pictured on the left) is a senior at Illinois State University studying Organizational and Leadership Communication. She is graduating December 2016 with her Bachelor's of Science degree and plans on continuing her education to obtain a Master's degree in Communication. Over the course of this project she feels more confident in her ability to coordinate and effectively lead others. Erica looks forward to using these skill sets in her pursuit to become a teacher for speech communication. 

Jake 

 

Jake is an Organizational Leadership Communication major graduating from Illinois State University. His goals are to get a sales position and to eventually own his own business. Things he has learned from this project is how to work in a small group to accomplish the group’s tasks and goals. He has also learned how to deal with conflict in a group and how to resolve it and move forward. He will be able to use these new skills when working in a sales team and eventually when owning his own business.

Nick 

 

Nick is currently a communication studies major at Illinois State University. After graduation, he plans on starting a career in account management. From this project Nick had learned that success in groups is based less on expertise and more on competent communication.

Liza

 

Liza is an Organizational and Leadership communication major at Illinois State University. She strives to implement sustainability and corporate social responsibility practices within the cosmetic industry, as well as environmentally friendly alternatives to the current packaging of cosmetic products. As a result of this project, Liza has earned how effective groups can actually be, especially in comparison to prior bad experiences with group projects. 

Ben

 

Ben is an Organizational and Leadership Communication major at Illinois State University. He is making plans to go into technology sales and eventually become a regional sales manager of a major corporation. During this project Ben has learned how to become cohesive in a small group. Not only that but he learned how to listen to what everyone has to say instead of just going with what he believes to be true. Realizing that everyone has different schedules helped him learn how to organize meetings so that the whole group can participate in group meetings.
